- About Our Data โ The Safe Plate retrieves restaurant health inspection records from official government sources, and we check our sources for updates every day. Many health departments publish their records through a records platform they contract to host them; those are still the department's own published records, and we name the issuing agency on every one. Where agencies provide official letter grades or scores (e.g. LA County), we display them as-is. We do not add reviews, ratings or scores of our own.

- New Jersey (remaining counties) โ The following New Jersey counties do not have an accessible inspection portal: Atlantic, Bergen, Burlington, Cape May, Cumberland, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Salem, Somerset, Union, and Warren. Camden County is on the same healthinspections.us platform family as Sussex County, but its portal is unreliable for automated retrieval, search requests reliably time out.
- Minnesota (remaining counties) โ Minnesota is among the least transparent states for inspection data, the Minnesota Dept. of Health has no public lookup tool (records available only by data request), and the Dept. of Agriculture's license lookup shows license status only, no inspection results. St. Paul, Hennepin County (outside Minneapolis), Ramsey County, Bloomington, Olmsted County (Rochester), St. Louis County (Duluth), Anoka County, Washington County, and Dakota County were all checked and publish no inspection data online. Minneapolis is the only Minnesota jurisdiction with public online inspection records.
- Arkansas โ No accessible public health inspection portal.
- Colorado (remaining counties) โ Denver has two data sources, neither fully usable yet: a legacy search tool that only covers July 2022โSeptember 2024 (frozen, not current), and an Accela Citizen Access portal that appears searchable but needs more reverse-engineering before it can be scraped reliably. Jefferson County (Golden, Lakewood, Arvada) has a public portal, but it's a JavaScript single-page app on an unidentified backend, not yet crackable by automated means. Tri-County Health Department, which used to jointly cover Adams, Arapahoe, and Douglas counties, dissolved in December 2022; all three now run separate departments (Adams and Arapahoe are Available above). The Colorado Dept. of Public Health & Environment runs its own portal covering roughly 40 smaller, non-delegated counties statewide, but it hasn't been individually verified county-by-county yet. The following Colorado counties were not individually checked: Alamosa, Archuleta, Baca, Bent, Chaffee, Cheyenne, Clear Creek, Conejos, Costilla, Crowley, Custer, Delta, Dolores, Eagle, Elbert, Fremont, Garfield, Gilpin, Grand, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Huerfano, Jackson, Kiowa, Kit Carson, La Plata, Lake, Las Animas, Lincoln, Logan, Mineral, Moffat, Montezuma, Montrose, Morgan, Otero, Ouray, Park, Phillips, Pitkin, Prowers, Rio Blanco, Rio Grande, Routt, Saguache, San Juan, San Miguel, Sedgwick, Summit, Teller, Washington, and Yuma.
- Nebraska โ No statewide inspection lookup. Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Dept. and Douglas County Health Dept. (Omaha) each publish inspection info on their own sites, but neither is a searchable portal usable for automated retrieval.
- Nevada (remaining counties) โ The following Nevada counties do not have a publicly accessible health inspection portal: Churchill, Elko, Esmeralda, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lincoln, Lyon, Mineral, Nye, Pershing, Storey, and White Pine. Inspection authority for these counties transferred to the Nevada Department of Agriculture in July 2025 (SB 466), no public portal exists. Washoe County (Reno, Sparks) publishes inspection data only through the Washoe Eats mobile app, with no public web search. Carson City and Douglas County share a portal that launched August 2024 but blocks automated access.
- Utah (remaining counties) โ The following Utah counties do not have a publicly accessible health inspection portal: Beaver, Box Elder, Cache, Carbon, Daggett, Duchesne, Emery, Garfield, Grand, Iron, Juab, Kane, Millard, Morgan, Piute, Rich, San Juan, Sanpete, Sevier, Summit, Tooele, Uintah, Wasatch, Washington, Wayne, and Weber.
- Illinois (remaining counties) โ All Illinois counties outside Chicago/Cook County are inspected at the county or municipal level. No statewide aggregated portal exists, each county manages its own records independently, and most do not have a publicly searchable database.
- Montana (remaining counties) โ The following Montana counties do not have a publicly accessible health inspection portal: Beaverhead, Big Horn, Blaine, Broadwater, Carbon, Carter, Cascade, Chouteau, Custer, Daniels, Dawson, Deer Lodge, Fallon, Fergus, Garfield, Glacier, Golden Valley, Granite, Hill, Jefferson, Judith Basin, Lake, Liberty, Lincoln, Madison, McCone, Meagher, Mineral, Musselshell, Park, Petroleum, Phillips, Pondera, Powder River, Powell, Prairie, Ravalli, Richland, Roosevelt, Rosebud, Sanders, Sheridan, Silver Bow, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, Teton, Toole, Treasure, Valley, Wheatland, and Wibaux.
- West Virginia (remaining counties) โ The following West Virginia counties do not have a publicly accessible health inspection portal: Barbour, Boone, Braxton, Brooke, Calhoun, Clay, Doddridge, Fayette, Gilmer, Grant, Greenbrier, Hampshire, Hancock, Hardy, Jackson, Jefferson, Lewis, Lincoln, Logan, Marion, Marshall, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mineral, Mingo, Monroe, Morgan, Nicholas, Ohio, Pendleton, Pleasants, Pocahontas, Preston, Putnam, Raleigh, Randolph, Ritchie, Roane, Summers, Taylor, Tucker, Tyler, Upshur, Wayne, Webster, Wetzel, Wirt, Wood, and Wyoming.
- Missouri (remaining counties) โ Outside the 12 available jurisdictions above, Missouri inspection data is fragmented and mostly unavailable online, food inspection authority is delegated entirely to county/city health departments with no statewide aggregation. Jefferson County (Arnold, Festus, Hillsboro) has a CitizenServe portal, but its report page requires a reCAPTCHA check-off that blocks automated retrieval. St. Louis County's inspection page is blocked by a Cloudflare challenge, and St. Charles County's portal could not be queried programmatically, both checked and confirmed not accessible by automated tools. Buchanan County (St. Joseph), Cole County (Jefferson City), Newton County, and Franklin County were checked and have no online search tool, only static PDF reports or informational pages. All other Missouri counties, mostly smaller, rural jurisdictions, were not individually checked, though the pattern found across every population center checked so far strongly suggests most publish nothing online.
- Pennsylvania (remaining counties) โ Pennsylvania outside Philadelphia is inspected at the county level with no statewide portal. Each county health department manages its own records. Most counties share inspection authority with the PA Dept. of Agriculture but do not publish a searchable online database.
- Washington (remaining counties) โ Washington state outside King and Clark counties, including Pierce (Tacoma), Snohomish (Everett), Spokane, Thurston (Olympia), Whatcom (Bellingham), and all other counties, are inspected by their local health districts. Snohomish County has a portal (snohomishonline.envisionconnect.com) but its public search API requires a per-tenant identifier that isn't exposed in any static page or script, not accessible by automated means at this time. The remaining counties do not have a unified searchable public portal.
- Indiana (remaining counties) โ Allen County (Fort Wayne) has a public portal, but it's blocked by Cloudflare bot protection and could not be queried programmatically. Hamilton County (Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville) has a facility directory but inspection records are locked behind a JavaScript single-page app (Oracle POSSE) that requires browser-level network access to fully reverse-engineer, not yet crackable by automated means. The following Indiana counties were checked and have no online searchable inspection database (only static PDF archives, phone/email contact, or nothing published at all): Adams, Bartholomew, Benton, Blackford, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Cass, Clark, Clay, Clinton, Crawford, Daviess, Dearborn, Decatur, DeKalb, Delaware, Dubois, Elkhart, Fayette, Floyd, Fountain, Franklin, Fulton, Gibson, Grant, Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Henry, Huntington, Jackson, Jasper, Jay, Jefferson, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Lake, LaPorte, Lawrence, Marshall, Martin, Miami, Montgomery, Morgan, Newton, Noble, Ohio, Orange, Owen, Parke, Perry, Pike, Porter, Posey, Pulaski, Putnam, Randolph, Ripley, Rush, Scott, Shelby, Spencer, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Sullivan, Switzerland, Tipton, Union, Vanderburgh, Vermillion, Vigo, Wabash, Warren, Warrick, Washington, Wayne, Wells, White, and Whitley.
